    About

    Yulia Berry, DMA is an internationally active flutist, educator, publisher, and digital creator based in Boston, Massachusetts. She is widely recognized for her artistic work, educational leadership, and visionary contributions to the global flute community.


    She is the founder of Flute Almanac, the Global Flute Excellence Awards, and the Global Flute Excellence Directory, and the director of the New England Flute Institute. Through these initiatives, she has created independent, editorially governed platforms that document excellence, foster international collaboration, and serve as long-term digital infrastructure for the flute world.


    As a performer, Yulia Berry has appeared internationally as a soloist and chamber musician, earning recognition for her musicality, expressive depth, and refined artistry.

    As an educator, she is dedicated to guiding students of all ages through a pedagogy that balances technical rigor, artistic imagination, and historical awareness.


    As a publisher and web developer, she designs and builds multilingual, content-driven platforms that unite musicians, educators, makers, and institutions across borders and cultures.

    Teaching

    Yulia Berry, DMA is a dedicated educator with over three decades of teaching experience, working with students of all ages and levels—from beginners to advanced pre-professional flutists.

    She is widely respected for her expertise in flute pedagogy and her thoughtful, effective teaching methods, which emphasize strong technical foundations, musical understanding, expressive artistry, and long-term development. Her teaching philosophy is centered on helping each student reach their full potential through structured, supportive, and inspiring instruction.

    Her students have earned awards and placements in leading ensembles and programs, including the Massachusetts Youth Wind Ensemble, New England Conservatory Baroque Ensemble, Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra (BYSO), Junior and Senior District Festivals, the All-State Festival, and ensembles at the Longy School of Music.

    Online lessons are available worldwide, subject to availability in her teaching schedule.
